Chevrolet Bolt 2020

The electric vehicle segment accounted for only a very small percentage of the overall automotive industry when the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt was launched on the market in 2017. Today, the segment has grown exponentially, and more and more consumers are thinking of switching to electric vehicles. We could say that the Bolt is partly responsible for the success EVs are having today. Considered the first affordable long-range electric vehicle, the Bolt has proven that you don’t have to charge $100,000 to give consumers an EV with a lot of range.
For 2020, the Chevrolet Bolt gets even more range which means it should attract even more consumers to electrification. Thanks to a few tweaks here and there, Chevrolet engineers managed to get 34 extra kilometres of range out of the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt which now offers 417 kilometres of total electric driving. To put that in perspective, that’s more than the Hyundai Kona EV, Nissan LEAF Plus, Kia Soul EV and the entry-level Tesla Model 3. All of that, for less than $50,000.
The Chevrolet Bolt has also received a few safety improvements resulting in a Top Safety Pick designation from the IIHS.
The Bolt’s core powertrain hasn’t changed that much, however, and that’s great news for buyers. The Bolt is considered one of the most fun to drive electric vehicles on the market with its massive battery located beneath the cockpit to provide exceptional balance. The improved Bolt still delivers 200 horsepower and 266 instant pound-feet of torque which means it jumps off the line the second you touch the throttle.
