Lube, Oil & Filter Change

 

 Why perform a lube, oil & filter change?

 

  • Extends the life of the engine and its internal components.
  • Validates General Motors of Canada’s warranty.
  • Helps to prevent major engine failure.
  • Reduces harmful exhaust emissions.
  • Keeps Internal parts clean

 What’s included:

 

  • Drain old engine oil and remove oil filter.
  • Replace engine oil with genuine General Motors engine oil.
  • Replace oil filter with genuine General Motors engine oil filter.
  • Complete a 20-point visual inspection.
  • Reset oil life monitor (if equipped).
  • Review results of inspection and advise customer of any recommended maintenance needs and immediate or future concerns.  

 Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 6 months or between 8,000-12,000km
  • Oil life monitor at 10% or less

 

Alignment Inspection

 

 Possible symptoms:

 

  • Premature tire wear.
  • Vehicle wanders (pulls side to side) or feels unstable.
  • Excessive wear to steering and suspension components.
  • Poor fuel economy.

 

 Why have your alignment inspected?

 

  • Maximizes fuel economy.
  • Extend tire life.
  • Maintain overall vehicle handling and stability.
  • Ensure safe braking control.
  • Minimize wear on steering and suspension components.

 What’s included:

 

  • Initial road test to determine how vehicle is steering and handling.
  • Visual check of steering and suspension system.
  • Check and report on current alignment of vehicle
  • Check condition of tires.
  • Set tire pressure.

 Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 12 months of 24,000km.
  • With spring tire change over

 

AC Service Details

A/C Performance Test (HVAC – heating, venting, air conditioning)
 
Customer has stated that their A/C system is not performing as well as it has in the past or would just like to have system tested.
 

The HVAC system will be inspected for the following:
 

  • Leaks- coolant, water, refrigerant, dye
  • Filters for HVAC system inspected for replacement
  • Stored DTC’s (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
  • Compressor operation and belt condition
  • Noises from blower fan, compressor, and or HVAC door motors, belts
  • Temp test from inside center duct, outside temp at time of tests, Compressor housing during operation.  Temperature reads from inlet and outlet of condenser and evaporator.
  • Estimate will be completed fully for all needed repairs and reviewed with Service Advisor and customer.

 

Disclaimer:  A/C performance test is designed with the customer in mind, ensuring the customer will always be in control of their money.  Only paying for what they approved in advance and not surprised at the end of the test procedure with a large invoice.

 

Why perform a multi-point vehicle inspection?

 

  • Identifies any current issues or maintenance which should be addressed now.
  • Helps to reduce potential major repair expenses through smaller preventative maintenance services (invest now to save tomorrow).
  • Allows you to plan ahead for future maintenance expenses.
  • Validates your General Motors of Canada’s warranty.
  • Provides safe peace of mind motoring for you and your family.

 

What’s included:

 

  • Inspect cooling system belt(s) and hoses for signs of wear or leaks.
  • Inspect for damage or leaks from fuel system.
  • Check all fluid levels, air filters and wiper blades.
  • Electronic battery test.
  • Check tire condition, adjust tire pressure.
  • Visually inspect front & rear brakes, brake system, exhaust system, suspension and steering components.
  • Check vehicle information to determine if any outstanding recalls exist (General Motors vehicles only).
  • Review any issues that require immediate attention and plan for future maintenance requirements.
  • Supply a written report of the service consultants and technician’s findings.

 

Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 6 months or between 8,000-12,000km

Seasonal Tire Changeover

 

Customer having their wheels changed for season will receive the following:

  • 20 point inspection for any safety or maintenance needed for coming change of season
  • Wheels will be washed and marked on back side wall or tread for location
  • Wheel nuts will be inspected for wear, corrosion and style is correct for seasonal rims (aluminum to steel)
  • Wheels will be dried to remove excess water before being bagged for customer or placed into inventory storage.
  • Mounting surfaces will be cleaned and lubricated before assembly
  • Wheel nuts will be torqued to spec by hand after road test
  • All wheels with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors) will be relearned or an estimate made if system is faulty.

 

Tire Rotation

 

 Possible symptoms:

 

  • Uneven wear between tire
  • Shortened tire life.
  • Excessive tire noise.
  • Tire vibration.

 

 Why rotate your tires?

 

  • Identifies early, any issues in respect to abnormal wear patterns. For 

example: wear caused by improper alignment, balance, and pressure or suspension damage.

  • Ensures even tire wear among all 4 tires and maximizes tire life.
  • Maintains steering integrity when driving on poor road conditions.
  • Improves fuel economy.
  • Validates General Motors of Canada’s tire warranty (if applicable).

 What’s included:

 

  • Inspect wheel fasteners for corrosion, wear and fit 
  • Remove, inspect and report on condition of tires.
  • Inspect rims and tire valves for damage or leaks.
  • Measure and report remaining tire tread depth.
  • Inspect condition of space-saver spare tire (if equipped).
  • Check and adjust tire pressures.
  • Rotate tires as required by service manual
  • Relearn tire location for TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors) system

 Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 6 months or between 8,000-12,000km.

 

Tire Balancing and Mounting Service

We have many different types of wheel balancing options for customers;

  • 4 wheel balance inspection 
  • 4 wheel balance with road force – reports on out of round tires
  • 4 wheel balance with straight track – provides tire location for least amount of pull
  • 4 wheel match mount with road force – improves tire and rim runout 

We can also install special wheel weights on most rims styles so the weights are not visible.

All balancing will receive the following:

  • Inspection for: wear, damage, condition, pressures and leaks
  • Wheel assemblies will be washed and all mounting surfaces cleaned and lubricated
  • All wheels will be clearly marked with their location on the back sidewall
  • All wheel damage will be clearly marked and documented for service advisor and customer
  • All faults found from inspection will have an estimate, with print out or visual example from technician or Service Advisor

Mounting; for seasonal, new tires or for balancing purposes:

  • The rim will be mounted so that the clamps leave next to no marks
  • Bead surface will be cleaned and sealed before mounting
  • The valve stem and/or TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors) will be inspected or replaced
  • Wheels will be inspected for leaks before they are installed on vehicle



Disc Brake Service

 

 Possible symptoms:

 

  • Brake grinding or squealing noise
  • Premature wear of brake pads.
  • Pulsation when braking.
  • Vehicle pulls or drifts when braking.

 

 Why perform a disc brake service?

 

  • Extends front and rear brake pad life.
  • Provides smooth even braking, through better pad to rotor contact.
  • Improves life span of brake rotors (replacement or turning).
  • Better braking and improved safety.
  • More controlled braking under extreme operations.
  • Quieter operation of bakes when in use (squeal).

 What’s included:

 

  • Inspect condition of pads and report approximate percentage of pad material remaining.
  • Inspect for signs of brake fluid leakage.
  • Inspect calliper assembly to ensure the components are undamaged.
  • Remove excess rust build-up and debris from components.
  • Cleans and lubricate calliper pins and other moving brake parts.
  • Check and report on condition of brake fluid.
  • Adjust emergency brake as required.
  • Road test and report.

 Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 12 months or 24,000km.

 

Drum Brake Service

 

 Possible symptoms:

 

  • Brake grinding or squealing noise
  • Premature wear of brake pads.
  • Pulsation when braking.
  • Vehicle pulls or drifts when braking.

 

 Why perform a rear drum brake service?

 

  • Extends brake shoe life.
  • Improves braking performance.
  • Improved stopping distance.
  • More controlled braking under extreme operation.
  • Quieter operation of bakes when in use.

 What’s included:

 

  • Inspect condition of shoes and report approximate percentage of pad material remaining.
  • Inspect for signs of brake fluid leakage.
  • Inspect drum assembly to ensure the components are undamaged and free of debris.
  • Cleans and lubricate internal brake drum components.
  • Check and report on condition of brake fluid.
  • Adjust emergency brake as required.
  • Road test and report.

 Recommended service interval:

 

  • Every 12 months or 24,000km.
